Osheaga and RTX Part 1: The Calm Before the Storm

I’ll keep this short as I still have to finish packing, but I’m about to embark on probably one of the craziest vacations I’ve ever been on. The locales aren’t exciting, exotic, or european, but the fact that I’ve decided to go to a music festival and a convention almost back to back is probably unhealthy to the point of suicide. But as a wise man once said, YOLO right? Actually I’m pretty sure that a wise man didn’t say that, because said wise man would probably have said to pick just one event and go to that, not both.

But at this point the excitement is finally kicking in and I don’t think I’ll be sleeping for a week and a half. No more clear than the fact I’ll be getting up at 5 in the morning to catch a train to Montreal. Oh boy. But from listening to Florence + The Machine live to meeting a bunch of really cool people in Austin, I don’t think I’d have it any other way. Besides, it’s a vacation right?

I hope to blog on a near daily basis while I’m away, but the reality is that I might be so caught up in the moment that I’ll probably forget. But I definitely plan to do event reviews after each trip. I’ve done one for each year I’ve been to Osheaga (this will be year number three), and as my first RTX I’m definitely going to have stuff to talk about.

Here I go… I guess?
