Happy December Everyone!
It’s that time of year again when even before the month started my calendar was filled to the brim with obligations and commitments. Which is really unfortunate as there’s so many video games to play and films to see before 2016 draws to a close. I don’t think it even hit me how busy I was going to be until I actually sat down and thought about it. Even so, I’ve got a lot of ideas for posts that I’d love to see come to fruition. And while not all of them might come to light I’d like to share what is in the pipeline.
To start my copy of Final Fantasy XV was finally released from customs and I’ve been playing it this past weekend. Unfortunately not as much as I’d like due to real life obligations but I can say in short that I’m in love with it. I’ll go into more details in a review or impressions post this month, but it is truly an absolute blast to play. There’s also Civ 6 which I’ve started writing a review for after finally finishing some fantastic games to completion. And before I forget Last Guardian finally drops this week, and while FFXV and Civ 6 are going to be keeping me busy for the immediate future, I might also be picking that up as well. Then, of course, there’s more stuff from the world of Overwatch, with the start of Season 3, the upcoming Christmas Seasonal Event and the game’s recent wins at this year’s Game Awards. In fact, I’m thinking of writing an opinion piece on the Game Awards in general, as this year’s ceremony in particular, gave me some food for thought on the future of the gaming industry. As you can see, I’ve got a lot of ideas for posts already, and that’s just games!
In a couple weeks, the first film in Star Wars’ series of new “expanded universe” films is out in theaters. Rogue One looks to be a departure from series tradition in many ways, and I couldn’t be more excited. Should probably get around to buying my tickets if I plan on seeing it in the first week of release.
In addition to the reviews I have in the works right now, there’s going to be a lot of opinion pieces as I sum up what I thought were some of the best (and worst) games, films, and music of the year. There’s a lot to talk about, and I’m really looking forward to it.
Until then I hope you have an excellent December and a happy holiday whatever you celebrate.
